The Research Center of Silicon-based Photonics focuses on areas including multiple motional parameter sensors based on micro/nanogratings and on-chip hybrid integrated photonic devices based on micro/nanowres, etc.. And the center has already done severial works such as noval diaplacement sensing based on self-imaging effect of optical gratings, high-efficiency opical nonlinear conversion based on single optical nanowire, and inertial measurement based on noval MOEMS structures.
1) Multiple motional parameter sensors based on micro/nanogratings
Based on the self-imaging effect of micro/nanogratings, we reseached the high-precision formation of three-dimensional light field, the self-decoupling method of multi-degree signals, precise identification and compensation for multiple measuring errors. And we have also developped several typical devices such as sub-nanometer displacement sensor, which may be used for precision processing and testing.
2) On-chip hybrid integrated photonic devices based on micro/nanowres
Based on the efficient optical modulation within single micro/nanowire, we researched on the effective controlling of dispersive and nonlinear properties of single micro/nanowire, the evolution of optical spectra in nonlinear media, and the optical energy transfer process within photonic structures. We have developped several devices such as single-nanowire-based on-chip hybrid supercontinuum light source, single-nanowire spectrum analyzer, which may be used for on-chip optical communication and all-optical computing.
